50mm Slot gasket - a Mylar Slot Gasket with a nylon woven carrier. The 50mm slot gasket is ideal for most dinghies.Ā Tom uses the 50mm gasket with a 5mm overlap. To fix the gasket clean and abraid the surface both of the boat and the gasket.Ā Allow a no glue flex zone near the actual centreboard opening of at least 15mm.
Hawk 75mm Slot Gasket is the best stuff for dinghy centreboard slot gasket. The tough mylar film is backed with a nylon weave. We recommend fixing the gasket with contact adhesive. We recommend making sure all old glue has been removed and the area abraided with sandpaper. We also abraid the woven side of the gasket. Mask off 15-20mm nearest to the centreboard case and apply the glue as per the instructions.
You can either lay a wide strip of gasket down then slit down the middle after butĀ Tom prefers to pre trim it and glue it down with a 5mm overlap.
