Hempel Silic Seal 45441 - 750ml - Black

Hempel Silic Seal is a two part component epoxy used to enable easy conversion from conventional antifouling to Hempel's Silic One Fouling Release System. Can be applied on previously painted antifouling in good condition.

Silic Seal is used on antifouling to secure adhesion between previously applied antifouling and Hempel's Silic One Tiecoat 274550. Suitable for all substrates excluding wood.

How To Apply Silic Seal

Use a metal scraper to determine wheather the aged antifouling adheres sufficiently. In case of bad adhesion, remove all loose/brittle layers. Abrade with wet abrasive paper. Rinse the surface with fresh water and allow to dry.

Apply one coat of the product. Be aware that the product has a very low viscosity and any runs and sags should be brushed out immediately.

Application Method: Brush or Roller

Mixing Ratio: 3:1 by volume. Stir the base add curing agent and mix well. Allow mixed paint to rest for several minutes before use to allow air bubbles to escape.

Film Thicknesses: Dry: 25 micron; Wet: 75 micron

Thinner and tool cleaner: Do not dilute. Tool cleaner: Hempel's Thinner 845 (No 5)
