The integrated splitter allows you to share the boats VHF aerial saving you from fitting an extra aerial or a separate splitter. The AIS700 has a dedicated 72 channel RAIM (RAIM detects and corrects faults in satellite sinals) receiver for superb accuracy and will connect to your multifunction displays using NMEA 2000 and Sea Talking. In case your equipment is older it also has a NMEA0183 multiplexer making connections to older VHF's and displays easier. A silent mode can be deployed which might be useful if sailing through riskier waters, you can see other AIS craft but cannot be seen yourself.
